Enermax Intros MODU82+ and PRO82+ Power Supply Units

Leading manufacturer of high-end computer products Enermax recently decided to release MODU82+ & PRO82+ as the successors to its "Liberty DXX" series, leading the power supply industry to new heights. These new power supplies are setting new benchmarks for the PC PSU industry by reaching 82-88% efficiency at 20%, 50%, or 100% load. These are also some of the quietest units in the world thanks to two new patented technologies: SpeedGuard and AirGuard. SpeedGuard allows the 120mm PSU fan to operate only at 400 to 500 rpm when the power supplies are under 50% load, while AirGuardis a mechanical design which bends the housing around the air-inlet to the fan and it helps to reduce the total noise level by up to 2 dBA. Besides being two of the first that complies with Intel's ATX12V v2.3 standards, MODU82+ and PRO82+ also offer three +12V rails (up to 25A on each rail) and four 6+2P (8P) PCI-E connectors for the latest graphics setups. MODU82+ is a modular PSU that comes with 3 different models: 425W, 525W, and 625W with MSRP of $109, $144 and $165, respectively. PRO82+ does not feature modular connectors and comes with 4 different models: 385W, 425W, 525W, 625W with MSRP of $79, $99, $129, $155. Finally an Enermax PSU I'd consider buying. Tho I do want to know how loud they are, so I guess I'll have to wait for benchmarks.

I love modular PSUs, makes cable management so much easier. See, I don't need four 8P PCIe connectors

i have the enermax Infiniti, looks almost the same.

650W powering an overclocked 2900xt and a QX9650 benching at 4.7Ghz+

(but yeah, over 100$ for the cheapest modular? I saw the Liberty 500W at ~$90 the other day...-I paid 73 shipped for my 400W about 4 months ago).

I've been running my Enermax Liberty 500w for over 2 years now, and not one problem. I will strongly consider the MODU82+ (625W) for my next build.

I've got an Enermax Liberty 620W, and I've been using it for at least a year and a half now, and you can't hear the thing with your ear next to it. It truly is quiet. And I love how these PSUs are all within the "sane" range of watts showing that most people don't need over 650W.

im loving my galaxy... such a slick and well made piece of kit... seeing it online in photos diddnt prepare me for the sheer quality of the unit... and the weight...

have no doubt that these will be fantastic and extremely rock solid PSU's

Been using an Enermax Liberty 500w for 2 years now. I love it. Very quiet and ver reliable.

If I was in the market for a new PSU I would definetly consider a MODU82.

I still consider the Liberty as one of the louder PSUs out there, unlike Seasonic, Tagan, beQuiet.
