TUL Corporation - a leading manufacturer of AMD Multimedia cards today has announced the new ATI TV Wonder 600 Hybrid PCI Express and TV Wonder 650 Hybrid PCI enabling the ultimate digital TV experience for European PC owners. Available through TUL(PowerColor brand) across Europe , ATI TV Wonder provides customers with an exceptional digital video recorder for their PC. The TV Wonder family of products is AMD LIVE! Ready and Certified for Microsoft Windows Vista - delivering The Ultimate Visual Experience and strengthening the value of multimedia PCs.

"We're proud to work with AMD to offer ATI TV Wonder to the European market," said Ted Chen, CEO, TUL Corporation. "These new ATI TV Wonder products will enable PCs to deliver even more entertainment to consumers."

ATI TV Wonder 600 Hybrid PCI Express, with a manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) of €54 (including VAT), includes a single TV tuner with hybrid functionality allowing users to watch or record DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting - Terrestrial) or analog TV via cable, and listen to FM broadcasts. Is this chip better than Theater 550 Pro (in analog)?

never. cable and SAT are encrypted and require a decoder. every provider uses a different setup. they want you to pay to view the channels.

Freeview and film 4 would be great for this

Id rather have this than a DVD recorder or a Hard Drive Recorder (dunno what they are called).
Especially when my tv is right next to my PC so i could just hook my pc to my tv and watch away :) OR i could stream it to my Xbox 360 if i made it into DivX which the 360 can stream.

Is it out now if not when?

Not true. They already have it, but you can't buy them separately. You have to buy it with a pre-built system. They take cable cards. They are called OCUR cards.

That article is a little dated, but hopefully some of these issues have been worked out.
