Samsung Electronics America announced today at the spring Press and Reseller Summit in New York City its newest models of high-end contemporary monitors, the SyncMaster 953BW, 2053BW, 2253LW, and 2253BW. Delivering industry-leading performance to design-conscious markets, these full-featured, ultra-sleek monitors advance Samsung's signature style with a unique "crystal" edge, piano-black glossy finish and uncluttered minimalist design.

The new series of displays features 2ms GTG video response time, 8,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and MagicColor intelligent color control to customize brightness, color contrast through mouse and keyboard control. Furthermore, the Samsung desktop displays offer customized key functions to control all Magic technology picture adjustments and a standard off-timer to support areas of reduction, product longevity and energy conservation.

The integration of DVI with HDCP connectivity interface allows the monitors to deliver accurate video images without distorting the original picture quality for more customized colors.

"With the addition of the 53 Series, Samsung continues to deliver a comprehensive suite of desktop monitors. The enhanced feature sets not only increase the design sensibility and set industry-leading features for optimum performance, but also address energy efficiency, delivering environmentally responsible products," said Christopher Franey, Vice President, Marketing & Commercial Sales, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. "As the worldwide leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, Samsung understands the various needs of our customers and is committed to delivering a broad portfolio of desktop displays to bring an unparalleled visual experience to our users."

Designed with convenience in mind, the new monitors incorporate unrivaled device functionality with the integration of MagicBright3 and MagicColor for automatic brightness, contrast and color correction; MagicWizard for resolution, image, color and screen font automatic adjustment setting; and MagicKey, allowing individual users to select five keys to link to favorite applications or Web sites. All of the aforementioned additions are integrated to provide intelligent image and color quality control and enhanced productivity.

To further enhance the overall viewing experience, the 53 Series widescreen models offer Image Size functionality to display a 4:3 aspect source accommodating wide content. Like all Samsung displays, the BW/LW monitors are backed by a three-year limited warranty on labor and parts, including the backlight, as well as toll-free technical support for the life of the display.

These high-end contemporary monitors are available for the following prices:
  • SyncMaster 953BW: $239 ESP
  • SyncMaster 2053BW: $299 ESP
  • SyncMaster 2253LW: $319 ESP
  • SyncMaster 253BW: $349 ESP
All monitors are available now through Samsung's resellers and distribution channels.
