I like GTA, but I don't think it meets the hype it gets. I personally think the San Andres story line was boring and just always felt like a grind to me. If they get rid of that grind feel with this one I will be happy.

Well initially, Liberty City was based slightly with New York when it comes to land mass, but mostly it is based on the easy coast theme. The new Liberty City of GTA4 is based completely on NYC.

As for the subway, I bet it gonna be like it is on real life...you get on the train, and wait for it to go from stop to stop, the hud/map will tell you where are, and you get off at the appropriate stop.

That's it, that's the HUD, a simple circle. Everything on the radar is translucent except for the roads. Things like weapons and wanted stars only appear when you are changing weapons or when you obtain a wanted level.
