Dell has started selling a new UltraSharp widescreen LCD, the 2009W. Meant to be a 20-inch 16:10 widescreen monitor, the UltraSharp 2009W features 1680x1050 pixels native resolution, 102% color gamut, 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and fast 5ms response time. In terms of connectivity, the 2009W has VGA and DVI with HDCP plus four USB 2.0 ports. Available now directly from Dell, the price tag for this new UltraSharp is $289.

I wonder if they are in this naming scheme using the year :D

What's so good about it? I can get the same thing with a little less good graphics for cheaper. Almost $100 cheaper...

Its a lill baby of my monitor :) awww...

sarcastic? From what I know, 16:9 is the designated industry format for widescreen computing and motion picture viewing.

Motion picture viewing, yes, but not the standard in widescreen computing. 16:10 is the standard there. 1280x800; 1440x900; 1680x1050; 1920x1200; and 2560x1600 have been the standards for a while, as far as computing is concerned.

dell ultrasharps (note: ULTRASHARP only) are arguably the best screens on the market.

16:9 is TV widescreen, 16:10 is PC widescreen. no idea why they dont match up, its always been that way (1920x1080 vs 1920x1200, for example)

the price is good, for what will be competing for the #1 20" widescreen.
