Im just hoping that by the time non reference design 1gb versions of this (pokes palit guy with a stick) are out, we'll have more concrete details on the ATI HD4xxx series, THEN i'll decide what to do

Probably only worth upgrading from a g92 if you have the EVGA Step Up program, if not, disregard.

i don't look at the 3870 GDDR3/GDDR4 its very negligible gains in FPS between the two

I didnt realize there was a gddr3, only the x2 gddr3
thats right though, there seems to be no changes within the ram, there are 256mb cards that horribly outdo 1gb cards.

Yes, but couldn't it also be construed that GDDR4 can clock higher than GDDR3?

Also meaning, making the card itself perform even better?! I guess I just don't understand your point.

yes it could theoretically clock higher but you have to remember there are timings involved and they can slow down the high clock speed
