Plextor, a leading supplier of optical and storage devices, announced today a new 4x Blu-ray DVD-RW drive using the SATA interface - the PX-B910SA. Building on the success of PX-B920SA, the PX-B910SA drops the support for HD-DVD presented in the above mentioned model and becomes a Blu-ray drive only. Other than that, read/write specs for other media formats remain the same (listed below). The drive is expected to retail in Japan for about JY45,000 ($430).

They are slowly but surely dropping in price. I remember that the first blu-ray burners (slower than this plextor) was over $1000.

I almost bought a reader at newegg since they have them for $129 OEM... but I rather just get a burner... might still do the burner. lol

The Cheapest Burning option I found was a LG GGW-H20L. $269 isn't as bad as Newegg's $299

lol.. the only thing making me not buy it right now is the fact that I just spent over a grand with a video card, motherboard, and monitor myself! lol
