Intel is being reported to launch three Nehalem-based quad-core processors (Bloomfield) for the end of this year (Q4). Intel does not provide any official names yet, but the CPUs will be identified as XE, P1 and MS3. Working at 3.2GHz, 2.93GHz and 2.66GHz respectively, all three members will have a TDP of 130W, 8MB L3 cache and will support simultaneous multi-threading (SMT) technology. At the time when the new LGA 1366 CPUs become available, Intel will already sell the X58 and ICH10 chipset combo designed especially for them. The X58 chipset will adopt Intel's latest QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) architecture replacing its longstanding FSB design.
