Looks at specs  Looks at system case :shadedshu Feels heat  Lots of heat :wtf:

Yeah, maybe I should take one of those things out. My rig has never been this hot. I love overkill as much as the next person but I'm starting to lift my limits with this setup...& I just got finished with it too

damn how many video cards do you have in your rig? 3 right?

Yeah, for now. I'm going to take one out & just go with one of each. The other 4850 will be claimed in seconds when my nephew finds out.

Cheap supercards that can eat any game will do that to you. Still a 10% market share increase in just 3 quarters is insane. It just goes to show you that cheap & powerful is much better than expensive overkill, not to say that the 4870 isn't overkill or anything.
Just goes to show that it doesn't have to cost a testicle and or an arm for good performing hrdware...Thanks AMD :)

I agree completely. The 4800 series is going to dominate this year, and probably beyond. :toast:

GO AMD, GO!

Might have to pickup that new shiny x48 to do crossfire. If AMD pushes in CPU market, I can dust off my 790FX-DQ6 (although its in perfect condition).

Very awesome news indeed. If they could manage both the graphics and cpu division with the same flair and performance/price. they;d be good to go.

the 4870 is overkill for most. The 4850 would be just fine for alot of people but the 4870 and 4870x2 gives you bigger e-penis

I don't think it's a matter of e-peen as much as it's a matter of future proofing your PC.

Bigger is ALWAYS better in my book. 2X 4870x2s FTW :rockout:
Now that's some e-penis

I'm really glad to hear the possible market gain AMD/ATI is set to take back - they've been in dire need of it. The merger really drug both companies into the ground, and put a major halt to any real competitive advancement . . . but we all knew there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

This boost to their shares is just what the red camp needs to get out of the red and into some green.

Glad to hear, I have always been an AMD/ATI fanboy. Neither have let me down so far.
