Ive been playing with a new toy this morning, VideoDownloader 1.0 is a Firefox add-on that lets you download from Youtube, Google, Metacafe, iFilm, Dailymotion and over 60 other video sites. So from your favorite Monkeyboy to Sith Lord having it on the hard drive is as simple as a three clicks away. As with all extensions and add-ons you will of course need to restart Firefox after installing.

(.flv) Right-click -> "Save Target As" OR copy and paste the link into your download manager (Warning: You must change the file extension to .flv). To open the file use FLV Player. If you want to convert the video to another format (avi, wmv, mpg...) consult our Help section (in the main page).

which is a Flash Player 8 based ap that I downloaded from Softpedia I did however encounter several sites that listed it only to dead end when you try to download it. You then rename get_video to get_video.flv then drag and drop on the player.
Monkeyboy you get options from flv (which automatically loads from Firefox to FLV player when complete in the integral download manager since I associated flv files when I installed it.) to avi, iPod and mp4

but Ive yet to see an invaild url
which site is it? I'll try to replicate it.

Another FLV Player

Use the FLV Hosting player as well http://flvhosting.com and they have an encoder that will convert to AVI or MPEG as well
