In a news thread you are to discuss about the subject, and NOT slander about it's predecessor. I, no we don't need to hear your past experiences with the PSP when it was LAUNCHED. Now the PSP has a large array of games and so thus its different.

The DS Lite is aimed at a lower end segment vs the PSP. I don't see people with DSs listening to music and watching movies...

I honestly think sony should bring back the metallic chassis that the PSP had cause these newer ones break too easily.
I get a handheld for games not to listen to music or play videos. If i wanted a device to do that id buy an iShit or equivalent. Or just not spend money and do that at home.

Now i'm glad I held on to my orinigal PSP and didn't bother with the 2nd revised one. I might grab this newer one and give the original to my girl or just keep it for hacking.

whats battery life like on these things?

I played God of War:CoO and Patapon for about 6 hours on a flight to Japan. Still had half the battery life, hard to estimate the battery life.

BTW, God of War,CoO is the best PSP to date.

so for the same price all your really getting is a better screen & a built in mic???

bit of a waste of time IMHO - partially because of the fact that ive not heard of ANYBODY running skype on their PSP even though the new slim PSP's support it. & even then wouldnt you rather chat through a headset???

but then again loudspeaker ftw.

but one of the things that i want to know is why wait so long to start releasing stuff for the PsP? I know they have a lot on their hands especially back when the (PS2???) PS3 was still being designed so obviously they had to redirect all the funds but honestly.... after PsP's debut it literally died within the first year because the lack of decent games. & accessorys - when i say accessories i mean something more thn just docking stations, pouches & screen protectors.

if they still put some effort into it they woulda been SOME competition against the DS - Ive never played the DS but ive heard its very good but the graphics arent as good as the PSP's which is REALLY Psp's great selling point. but Sony in all their infinite wisdom decided to do f**k all & focus on something else.

for those who ditched their PsP's for a DS - I dont blame you.

For DS's rise in sales - they deserve it

The only person I know who owns a DS around my age is a flaming homosexual. Not to say anything bad about the product, but seriously, that's the only person.

The DS is doing well in sells for 2 reasons:

Kids and Japan.
