USB soundcards should be looked at as a way of adding outputs to a limited system - particularly laptops. The external one i have has coax and optical SPDIF outputs - handy on a USB device.
Oh yeah I wanted one of those, because then it doesn't actually have to any processing it just sends the signal along so I wouldn't care if it had not processor. But like if i was plugging it into an analog output, it should have a chip. Say is that one you have compatible with Vista?
