I hear you, but I don't see how it's compatible with any of the popular ones. It basically asserts that every major figure and accomplishment in human history was only possible because of aliens. Like, you have to go all in on it like a religion. It basically is just every religion lumped together. Or at least that's how I remember it. It's not exactly 'Alex Jones' level stuff.
...I think having said that, I need to process the fact that Ancient Aliens is now but a minor vanilla conspiracy theory in my mind. We are truly in living in an age of renaissance.
You know? Yeah... that makes sense. I remember the big H during that time. Most documentaries I've seen have been crap for actual info, but theirs could barely be called documentaries at all. They really were more like the blueprints for the average conspiratorial video essay of today. I can see that.
Mermaids? Can't lie, me and my stoner friends would've loved that in 2009. But mostly for comedy. I think we all assumed everyone was laughing at those programs. Guess not.
It's all kinda trash TV to me now. They barely try with the stuff they bring on. I think the reality format killed it all. It normalized garbage-gazing in a new way, and spread its wings out to other genres in the medium.
People probably just got used to all of the shows on TV being bullshit. And I think that's probably right when it got em. It's the same way my dad thinks the constant ads do not influence him because he knows they're just stupid ads.
