In this presentation ATI talks about "The Product Stack" which is one way to measure how much bang you get for your buck. There is a comparison of different price segments against what the competition from NVIDIA has to offer. Also there is a hint of "cable-free CrossFire mode" with upcoming Catalyst 6.5.

nice little display. Was it me, or was there some odd looking grammar in there?

anywho, whats the bet that the cable-free Crossfire still needs a master, or at least the next-gen RD3200(?) chipset mobo...

Where exactly did this come from? Looks interesting, I've always favoured ATI in quality, and I usually find they are more expensive, but not in this case I suppose.

hooray! ATI is superior to Nvidia! :D . Interesting stuff in there...like catalyst 6.5 lol. And no, GS doesn't USUALLY mean "go slower" on the nvidia side. But on the ATI side, SE stands for "sucky edition" lol

"You have to wonder if the GS part means Goes Slower"

That made me laugh out loud.

Well I take all that with a grain of salt...on slide 3 they compare a X1800XT 256MB to the 7900GT. Why? The X1800XT 256MB may be cheaper but it does not perform better than the 7900GT, then on slide 4, they suddenly compare the X1800XT 256MB to a EOL part, the 7800GT. The 7900GT costs the same as the 7800GT, but has a much better performance the 7800GT and the X1800XT 256MB.

Then they are taking a X1800GTO which is basically not shipping anywhere (a few exceptions...the UK...I wonder why they took UK prices :p ...) It is available at Ebuyer for 180 Pounds, the 7600GT goes for 150 Pounds at Ebuyers here. 30 Pounds is a lot of money considering it si 20% of the total price of the card.

Oh and on slide 3: The Prices:
X1900XTX costs 379 Pounds here and a 7900GTX starts at 363 Pounds here great so the X1800GTO is in stock there, but not in Germany/Austria...but the 7900GTX is in stock in Germany but not in the UK...so what?

Don't trust ATI or NVIDIA with these slides..both try to scew them to their advantage...this is what I would call propaganda material *G*. Both have trouble shipping certain parts, both do not have a one on one card lineup for every price/performance point.

read the reviews, the tests from trusted websites...and make your own decision, whats best for you...

cheers
DS

What I meant was, is it something ATI have done and emailed to people? Or have ATI put it on some website? And yes I was wondering about the prices too. They mention www.scan.co.uk on one of the slides so they could be from there.

The easter bunny.

Interestingly enough, I saw him with a chocolate ATI card the other day  :toast:

I cant believe no one has pointed out how it says "7800BS" instead of "7800GS" on one of the slides.

how can they compare a $537 gfx with a $321? those are the cheapest prices in denmark (VAT=25%) C3D X1800XT and C3D 7800GT.

A 7900GT will run ya $345...

i can understand their frustration, no performance crown, a 180 euro 7600 gt performs like 1800 gto of 246 euro, the 1600 Xt loses from a 7600 gs and costs like almost like a 7600 gt, in sli not even a match for nvidia, ... but instead of hate nvidia for that they schould try to keep up or do better... instead of fake prices and performances to win a few dumbasses that believe this or never have read a review ...

wow this one couldn't be more incaccurate lol.
x1800xt 256mb competes with the 7800gtx 256mb and doesn't beat the 7900gt in any test i've seen.
the x1800xt 512mb might in higher res/detail areas due to the extra memory and better built cores. but again it's a toss up.
in many review I've seen the 7600gt beat the x1800gto despite the 128-bit memory.
and what exactly are they using to score these cards with?
