The front of each FC5 is milled out of a single block of aluminum and the unit can power up to 4 fans with 30W draw each - all attributes of an excellent quality.

Great review!
I'm a big fan of this gizmos and find them very useful.

Although you stated that there is no easy way to alter between the lights I want to propose an alternative to the jumpers. It doesn't alter the fact that it isn't easy, but surely make the change part more "handy". Just solder wires to the pins of the board, to the other end of the wires solder a two pole toggle switch. One of those that you can stick out a small hole. I know it will look a little crummy, but at least you can change the color without the jumpers, and if you've got the right case mod, it can be a nice little touch!

Yea, changing it with the jumpers is really easy. He didn't show all the possible colors, though.

Why is it pertinent to have the microcontroller specs listed? Exactly how does it relate to the review? Theres no comparison to other fan controller's microcontroller and the only mention is that W1zzard loves these for the ease of use w/C programming.

I looked at the specs and stumbled through the various pin diagrams, wave form diagrams, truth tables, and even some of the C code all which are pointless unless I would have means to flash the chip.

Not entirely pointless to the review, but there's absolutely no explanation to why it's included. Could it be omitted in future reviews?

I went back and re-read to see what you were talking about and all I saw was three sentences about it. I think the point was just that they recognized the chips? Either way, it's not like it was cluttering the review.

Looks almost identical to the Scythe Kaze Server. Not that there's a lot of space to get very creative.

That scythe one doesn't change color though, does it? Either way, the scythe looks easier to read, but maybe that's the lack of backlighting.

Nice review as always DS and pretty cool on the color changes. I do not like how, for 53 bucks, it seem they cheaped up on the display. I hated back in the day when you had a clock or something like this and you can see all 8s, even though it was 88:88.
