Vantec has updated their sleek looking NexStar Hard Drive dock with the newest generation Universal Serial Bus interface - USB 3.0. Even though the exterior did not change, the interior manages to impress no matter if you are using USB 3.0 or 2.0.

Excelent review. Can I ask for future reviews that you use a drive that can saturate the bus... Vertex 2 or similar? I'm keen on seeing just how well constructed these bays are, not that I would ever need that much throughput but that really isn't the point for us tech geeks is it :) We like raw numbers :)

I doubt any current SSD would be fast enough to saturate the 5.0gbps that the USB 3.0 bus offers. I do see your point though, it would be interesting to see how well the enclosure handles a really fast sandforce SSD.

I just picked up one of these toasters for myself today. I am thrilled to bits with it. :)

Benchmark Scores it sucks even more less now ;)
Looks almost the same as the one I have of these except with USB3.0 although the only time i use the USB is when a HDD doesn't play nice and won't appear when using eSATA but that doesn't happen very often
