Corsair's Force F40 is the smallest Sandforce based drive the company offers with just 40 GB capacity. It is also the most affordable at $120. Thanks to a 7-channel design and the SF-1222 controller the drive delivers great performance for users who want to get on the SSD bandwagon without breaking the bank.

Great review W1z, but I personally think WEI is crap. I dont think it gives a fair view across a wide variety of HDD's.

Also, did you use WinRAR's built in Benchmark? Would that skew the results based on the cpu? Just curious.

Thanks for a great SSD review/read.

Does that actually mean that my Kingston SSD, with no TRIM, has to be "formatted" ones and awhile too maintain the performance??

no, the built in benchmark has no disk activity as far as i know. my test is actually unpacking data and writing to the disk as described

if these SSD doesn't have any cache, does it have the micro stutter issue?

i just don't get it why theres not at least 64MB RAM as buffer to minimize write and boost read ??

Yes looks like OCZ Agility 2 40GB is faster and cheaper too if compared to Corsair, then do a dual fight between those two.

Not really , rather TRIM basicly load balances the write cycles towards multiple cells, instead of rewriting the same cell over and over again , which prevents the cell being writting having a longer lifetime.

Good review tho, age of affordable SSD's are getting close :)

Sandforce controllers dont use the DRAM Cache because it basically has an algorithm or what have you set aside where it uses a portion of the nand chips for that issue.
