does anyone have this annoying 144 hz flicker with strategy games mainly ,,,, espe,,,cial,,ly with dx 11 ??

So I drop it down to 60 hz and it helps about 85 % . Civ 5 dx 11 does it mainly when the screen is very busy , yet civ 6 dosnt ...dx 12 ??

im playing surviving mars and its the same . Ive tried changing drivers with no change. lol its not that big deal just thought it was a reasonable talking point uno……

hey bro , im using the asus driver for the monitor , and in regards to the overdrive utilities ( im tinking ) na. So ive made a few more changes turned off Freesync , and dropped the the frames to 120
in the Mars game settings . Lol there is so many firkin settings now in amd driver package hehe. So my changes seem to have worked , with Freesync off...….

there should be a setting of how much overdrive: like low, middle+high and most times middle is best.

Wow this is a old thread Asus rog 32xg , yet ive been suffering with freesync flicker for years . Then i got artifacts horizontally when i bootup for about 5/ 10 min and it goes away. So i buy the same brand new monitor and the artifacts go away but not the freesync flicker . Mind u this was in 2022. So i sell the new monitor and start using the old monitor, just no freesync , and also games and pc go away in place of work for 2 years . Now ... I'm interested again and buy a new Asus rog XG 32xxx and it back light is flickering on the destop and games randomly lol. I try all the usual stuff drivers, cable, even dp2.1 to no effect. Also now i have HDR to combat :roll:because the new monitor supports it. That stuffs up to, so i put back the 2019 monitor back on hehehe , and place the brand-new Asus rog xg 32wcms on the floor. Its not the GPU because i bought a new one and tryed on both and shit u not the old monitor dosnt have any desktop back light issues! After a few beers i decide to box up my new Asus rog xg32wcms and take it back to the store because its still under 1 month for their tech to look at if. On my way home i get a phone call from the tech and he says YOUR RIGHT its faulty !!!!!!!! OH MY .... Awesome man now i get to choose a new monitor and I'm definitely not getting ASUS rog. lol Here is what i chose

To end the novel the new lg monitor is working Frikken awesome at 180hz :rockout:
