Zalman is making changes to its VF3000F GPU fan-heatsink, to give it compatibility with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 and GTX 580. The heatsink is largely unchanged from the Fermi-ready one introduced back in September 2010, with only a few minor compatibility tweaks. The new variant still measures 239 (L) x 98 (W) x 51 (H) mm, weighing 430 g. It uses two green LED-illuminated 92 mm fans that spin at 1400-3000 RPM, featuring EBR bearing.

The VF300F is essentially a large aluminum fin array to which heat is conveyed by five 6 mm thick copper heat pipes. The heat pipes converge at a large copper base. The heatsink is ventilated by the two 92 mm fans, and is topped off with a green chrome cooler shroud. A syringe of ZM-STG2 TIM is bundled. The new VF3000F is expected to be priced on par with the older model, €40 - €45.

Interesting. I kinda like the color, It's different. Maybe if i get a bigger case, I will consider getting this, and I hope the fan noise is low on it. As of right now, my 570 barely fits, and its stock fan gets kinda loud for my tastes in games.

Looks good but the issue I see is that there are no included VRM/MEM cooling.

close to looking like the scythe musashi which i must say is a sweet cooler. If the build quality is any thing like scythe's this be one top cooler as the scythe really soaked the heat up it just needed better fans.

Although if the build quality is like scythe's the fins are very easy bent but this is partly what makes it so good in soaking the heat up.

Scythe USA SCVMS-1000 Sleeve VGA Cooler

VF3000F

What a ripp off and a shame as they have limeted the compatibility of it

The included heat sinks for the current version looks like this.

I would assume a similar bundle comes with this one.

As long as the wings on the shroud don't rub up against the fan anymore they'll have a winner.

Is this a dual or triple slot cooling solution?

I also wonder how well this would work on a triple SLI setup, if uses 3 slots, then 3-way SLI is out of the question...

Do you guys know of any good after market coolers for GTX580 cards that use only two expansion slots and provide better cooling than the stock coolers? Or is water cooling the only option in a 3-way SLI setup?

It kind of sucks, the good coolers for high powered cards all seam to be triple slot, there are dual slot coolers that would do OK but as soon as you stack 3 of them the temps would get very unimpressive.

I would say for triple sli then water is the only logical choice, I think both the stock and after market coolers all don't deal well once they start getting stacked as they either start getting pretty toasty or noisy.

If you have something like the 4-way Evga X58 board then 3-way should be doable but I don't know if there is such a thing as a flexible 3-way SLI bridge for nVidia cards. If not then your out of luck.

It would fit just fine, but you wouldn't have any chip and vrm sinks.

Yes, problems start to show up when you stack the cards, when I put my cards one next to the other to enable 16x SLI in my board, the top card gets 15~20 degrees hotter than the bottom card, I can imagine having a third card sandwiched between the other two cards would make things even worse.

If you have something like the 4-way Evga X58 board then 3-way should be doable but I don't know if there is such a thing as a flexible 3-way SLI bridge for nVidia cards. If not then your out of luck.

Yes, I've seen people use the flexible dual SLI ribbons to enable 3-way SLI in unorthodox setups, you just need three of them, but either way, my current board, even though it's a extended ATX board, doesn't have enough room to use 3 triple slot cards at one time...

I ask this because I intend to go 3-way SLI in the near future, but in the mean time wanted a cooling solution that worked with my current setup, and can be upgrade if needed to, this cooler looks nice, but unfortunately it's of no use in this situation, it seems like water cooling is the most sensible solution...

Thanks guys for your replies :)

The current incarnation of the VF for 4 series cards has a unisink, not multiple small sinks. Looks like that pic is for GT2XX cards or ATI 4 series cards.

That was my bad,i thought it was the current universal one, but it is the 2xx/4xxx one :banghead:

The current one is barely a 3 slot and is the slimest aftermarket cooler I have seen. I do like mine for my gtx470 which has a unisink for ram etc.
