Great preview. One concern I have is the PS/2 port. Is it truly only mouse compatible? While my current mechanical keyboard does support Full NKRO over USB, I wouldn't want to limit myself from other options.

Purple=keyobard, i think. Pretty sure it's keyboard-only.

The problem with these brands like ECS and biostar is ongoing support. Like when a new CPU comes out that needs a new bios, you know you will get it with Asus/Gigabyte but with ECS, Biostar bios updates are ignored.

I'd rather pay a little more to get that ongoing support.

16 PCIe 3.0 + 4 PCIe 2.0 from the PCH i think.

Z68 had 16 PCIe 2.0

Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge have 20 PCI-E lanes. The extra 4 (after 16) are only enabled on the Xeons with workstation/server motherboards. Sandy Bridge-E has 40 lanes. P67/Z68/Z77/X79 all have 8 lanes.

The use of four display output takes up half the Rear I/O, and limits the number of I/O ports. 6 USB ports, to me, is not enough. Keyboard/mouse for me take 3, then I have tablet, 360 controller, and card reader. I've run out of ports.

No, it's not a big negative, but it is something that needs to be considered.

I've been using a Biostar board for quite a while now (was on the TP67B+ now the XE) and for both of them, bios updates to support (early/preliminary thought it may have been) in December of last year. So by my experience, that is a false statement.

Yep, that's there thr onboard audio lies, and the shield reduces EMI.

They could have done a better job with the locations of the front panel audio and USB 3.0 headers, but other than that, it's really tough to find much fault with the board, especially at a ~$150 price point.
