KRK Systems, known for their studio monitors, recently and quietly released two studio headphones. Today we will be taking a good look at the KNS 8400 headphones which is the current high-end offering from KNS 8400. Intended for studio use and abuse these headphones are durable and feature a more analytical sound signature than most headphones available.

 KRK

Do you think these would be good for airplane travel, if I replaced the cord? I can't stand IEMs.

They will be alright, but I think the noise attenuation is a bit on the low side compared to a set of good in-ears. The cable is a bit long as well, you could of course just cut it to the desired length and solder on a new jack to make them more portable.

Cheers,
Fred

Yeah, I really don't like in-ears though. :p I'm not sure I do enough flying to warrant purchasing another set of headphones just for that anyways thought at moment . . . but the next time I have to fly for a work, I think I'm gonna get a pair of these.

Oh, I forgot to say before, but, thanks for the great review. :)

I just ordered a pair. I'll try to remember to post back in here with my thoughts after I've gotten a chance to use 'em with my desktop amp (Schiit Asgard) and my portable amp (FiiO E7).
