I-O Data of Japan introduced a new line of hard drives for DVRs and smart TVs, the AVHD-PxU. Available in two variants based on capacity, 500 GB and 1 TB, the AVHD-PU is capable of functioning as a storage medium for DVRs and smart TVs such as Toshiba Regza, Sharp Aquos, Sony Bravia, etc. Measuring 79 x 23 x 134 mm (WxDxH), and weighing around 200 g, the drives connect to host machines over USB 2.0 interface (standard and mini type-A connectors). It includes mounting holes to make it discrete (behind the TV). The 500 GB and 1 TB variants are priced at 13,125 JPY (US $161) and 17,640 JPY (US $216), respectively.
