Logitech bought Ultimate Ears about a year ago and now we are finally seeing the first joint effort of the two companies. Today we will be taking a look at their new Boombox which is a basically a battery powered wireless speaker with over six hours of battery life.

Sad to see Logitech continue milking the UE name for seemingly unrelated products. First the terrible UE full size noise cancelling Beats rip offs, now something that is not even a pair of IEM or headphones and to a boombox.

Just on a side note, did you test if the bass sounded better with the analog 3.5mm input? I know bluetooth has some pretty nasty compression when streaming audio (low bitrate SBC codec by default on the Galaxies). So the lack of bass might also be attributed to that...?

I find that my car stereo produces next to no bass when streaming over bluetooth while AUX/USB sounds fine.

The sound quality is generally better with a cable. It is not a night and day difference but it is audibly better under controlled listening conditions. For use outside where there is ambient noise I do not think you can hear the difference.
