You use another USB 3.0 cable than the cable in the package - is there a reason for that?

I have this case with an Vertex 3 256 GB disk and it works great. Very recommendable as you said.

The enclosure is so inexpensive. I purchased one and it had failed. Sadly I was traveling when it occurred and the by the time I got back to home base I couldn't send it back to Newegg - by the time I got around to attempting to send it back it was not an option. Although the one I purchased was defective, I guess I'll purchase it one more time to see whether I just had a bad one.
