Iiyama today unveiled the latest additions to its ProLite line of monitors, a 19.5-inch model with a TN panel (ProLite E2083HSD) and a 27-inch unit packing an AMVA+ panel (ProLite XB2783HSU). The 19.5-inch display has a native resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, a 5 ms response time, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, 250 cd/m2 brightness, two built-in 2 W speakers, and D-Sub and DVI inputs.

The AMVA+-equipped monitor is Full HD (1920 x 1080 resolution), and features a 4 ms (GTG) response time, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, two 2 W speakers, a two-port USB hub, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectivity, and a stand allowing for tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment.

The ProLite E2083HSD and ProLite XB2783HSU are backed by a three-year warranty and cost 16,800 yen (~ 170 USD) and 33,800 yen (~ 343 USD), respectively.

When we have products like Kindle Fire HDX with 2560x1600 on 9" coming out, why is Iiyama going backwards with 1600 x 900 pixels on 20" and 1920 x 1080 on 27". Horrible!
