The UE BOOM was one of the first bluetooth speakers that wowed us. Today, we take a look at the newest revision of the BOOM. It features much improved firmware, allows you to customize its start-up sound, and comes with a bigger bundle.

Hi Frederik, how does this compare to the similiar Bose bluetooth speaker system. I know Bose gets a lot of crap from the audiophiles but I heard the Bose system and it sounds pretty good. The $200 price tag though is too steep for something that small.

Hi Easy I have not heard the new small Bose systems, but compared to the Bose iPod dock from last year it is much cleaner sounding and has better range and a less grainy sound to it. I agree it is an expensive piece of kit but it is also one of the top performers.

I checked out some youtube videos comparing the bose to the ue boom and some others. The Bose really is the best speaker out there like it. The UE is about $10 less expensive and sounds just as good if you stand it upright and place it somewhat near a corner. I do think before Summer is out I will get a UE Boom for travel.
