Corsair, the most awarded PC power supply brand in the world, today announced the availability of the much-anticipated AX1500i Digital ATX power supply from www.corsair.com. Using advanced digitally-controlled circuitry to deliver ultra-stable power at over 94% efficiency, the AX1500i is the first 1500 watt PSU to meet the ultra-efficient 80 PLUS Titanium standard. The AX1500i will also be available from retailers in late May.

Using Corsair's second-generation digital architecture, the AX1500i uses a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) to control power output, resulting in tighter DC voltage output regulation and superior stability for your valuable PC's components. The AX1500i's incredible efficiency also results in greatly reduced heat, allowing the PSU to operate in a truly silent Zero-RPM fan mode at loads of up to 450 W. Even when delivering its maximum 1500 W of power, a high-quality 140 mm Dynamic Fluid Bearing (DFB) fan allows the AX1500i to operate quietly.

With 1500 W of power on tap, the AX1500i is equipped with a huge array of cabling choices allowing it to power even the most demanding 4-way SLI and CrossFire X setups. Combined with the power of Corsair Link technology, enthusiasts have access to an incredible range of control over their PC's power, with real-time temperature, power usage and efficiency monitoring right from the desktop.

"After we released the AX1200i, the world's first digital ATX PSU, our customers came to us asking for an even higher wattage AXi PSU to power their most demanding PCs." said Aaron Neal, product manager of PSUs at Corsair. "For them, we created AX1500i with more power and 80 Plus Titanium efficiency. We look forward to seeing the extreme dream PCs that top enthusiasts power with AX1500i."

  • Fluid dynamic bearing
  • Includes 8 PCI-E cables with 10 total connectors for GPUs
  • Over 94% efficiency at 50% load (115V)
  • 100% Japanese 105°c capacitors
  • Native USB support for Corsair Link
  • Dimension: 150 mm x 86 mm x 225 mm
  • 7-year warranty
  • $449.99 MSRP

Honestly that price is a bit better than I thought it would be. Pretty sure this is the first PSU JonnyGURU has given a 10 too in every grading category.

First Titanium rated PSU too.

I can't think of any other. He did, however, rate the EVGA Supernova G2 850w at 9.9. A .1 difference probably isn't going to be worth much to most, but it's nice to see manufacturers striving to make really good product.

My sample didn't arrive yet (probably stuck at customs) but once it does I will give it priority. It looks an impressive unit judging from Wolf's results at Jonnyguru.

A PSU to last your years on end. Definitely worth the asking price.
Finally a PSU that can power a GTX 580 under cold XD

Just curious for crypto miners... How much power does it take to run 4x ATI's 290X? I this 1200W is enough, but I might be wrong.

Btw, you can buy 2x750W power supplies for a total half the price, so I'm not sure if Corsair priced this thing right...

Seriously?

Those 750w PSUs you speak of are no where near this quality PSU, let alone 80 Plus Titanium certified.

Corsair is the only one to release a 1500w PSU of this calliber to the market.

Pricing is fine.

Most PC enthusiasts wouldn't use more than a 750W PSU in their entire life. There are very few people who actually need a higher output PSU and most people have no clue how to actually determine what they need for power in their PC system.

BTW, I highly doubt that Corsair is the most awarded PSU brand in the world. More likely that would be Seasonic as Corsair is just rebranded stuff. They don't make their PSUs, H2O coolers, etc. Seasonic's Titanium PSUs are more than enough for 99% of the world. Even an 80 plus Gold PSU is more than enough for any highend PC build.

Even they are polymers, it's still a bad thing in my opinion to put CrapXon's and those other Chinese polymers to a PSU like this. With a Titanium efficiency and price tag like that, they've should use Japanese polymers instead.

Finally something to replace my PSU, been waiting for this one a long time.

Let's hope it runs passively with a 1200W ish load.
