Today Logitech introduced the Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Stereo Speaker, a wireless speaker designed for performance and mobility.

Engineered for wide-range sound, the Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Stereo Speaker has specially angled drivers to give you an expansive sound spectrum, with precise bass response and detailed mids and highs. With this speaker, you can connect and play your music and video entertainment from any Bluetooth-enabled device up to 30 feet away, giving you the freedom to take your media anywhere.

"The Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Stereo Speaker gives you theater-quality sound on the go," said Jeffery Cheung, product manager for wireless speakers at Logitech. "We designed this stereo speaker on a completely new acoustic platform, strategically positioning the drivers to face upward and outward to deliver expansive sound that can help take your mobile entertainment to the next level."

The speaker is simple to connect and control. You can adjust volume and manage phone calls without missing a beat. Plus, with the speaker's built-in lithium-ion battery, you can keep yourself entertained with up to five hours of continuous playtime, and recharging is easy and convenient thanks to its micro-USB cable.

Pricing and Availability
The Logitech X300 Mobile Wireless Stereo Speaker is expected to be available in the U.S. and in select countries in Asia in June 2014, and in select countries in Europe in August 2014.

Glad to see Logitech pushing forward with new speakers, doing what Logitech do.

This segment is in CONSTANT flux, being the new hotness in the commodity accessory market (especially going into Summer), and it's difficult to always tell what's the latest and greatest. Logitech and JBL (HarmonKardon) seemed to have mastered what people want: cheap and pretty darn good. Where HK faulters though is they often release a very good product (not just speakers, but also headphones and other products) and sell it for years relatively untouched. Logitech seems to understand the need to refresh their products with either slight tweaks to design or components (ex: a new bluetooth standard/feature) to keep themselves in people's awareness and to remain relevant. I applaud them for that, and it doesn't hurt they remain a good value either.

As this appears the next iteration of the mini boom(box), I hope they also refresh their rugged and/or pocketable/truly portable design as well (the boom).
