Synology Inc. today launched the new RackStation RS815+, RS815RP+, and DiskStation DS2415+. Those powerful NAS servers are designed to provide speedy encryption performance, scalability on the fly, and high return on investment for growing small medium and businesses. "RS815+, RS815RP+, and DS2415+ are three great additions to Synology's lineup. Their scalability and encrypted performance allow our professional customers to centralize file sharing, data backup, and application serving within an encrypted, unified, and virtualization-ready storage," said Michael Wang, product manager at Synology Inc.

The three models feature a 2.4GHz quad-core processor with AES New Instructions encryption engine, a RAM module expandable to 6 GB, four Gigabit LAN ports supporting Link Aggregation and failover. This powerful hardware translates into reading speeds exceeding 389 MB/s for the RS815+/RS815RP+ and 451 MB/s for the DS2415+, making them capable of handling requests from a great number of users simultaneously. For encrypted files, RS815+/RS815RP+ delivers 388 MB/s (11 times faster than the previous generation) while DS2415+ reaches 451 MB/s (13 times faster than its predecessor) in reading speed.

RS815+/RS815RP+, and DS2415+ can be expanded to 8 and 24 bays with Synology RX415 and DX1215 expansion units respectively. RS815RP+ is equipped with redundant power supply. The three models support Synology High Availability, taking advantage of their multiple LAN ports to ensure the highest uptime and resiliency. The SSD read/write cache support further allows organizations to see a considerable boost in throughput while minimizing their investment. Certified by VMware, Citrix, and Microsoft Hyper-V, the three NAS servers can be seamlessly integrated into a company's virtualization environment and act as a powerful central storage.

RS815+, RS815RP+, and DS2415+ run DiskStation Manager (DSM), the advanced and intuitive operating system for Synology NAS. Its wide range of applications from backup to network management make the three models suitable for providing all essential business services and increasing productivity at work. Synology was voted "PCMag Business Choice Award winner", twice in a row in 2013 and 2014.

6 weeks ago I made an enquiry to Synology about said "RS815+" model. We wanted 3x for our small business and branch locations.

Thank you for your email and interest in Synology.
We have no plans to release an RS815+ at this time as the RS814+ is still an up to date working model...
Best Regards

Based on their answer, we went with QNAP. Shame. Because I preferred the Synology and DM feature set.
