Austrian SSD maker Angelbird unveiled two new PCIe SSDs at Computex, the Wings MX2 and the Wings X2. The Wings MX2 is simple SSD with a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 host interface, and similar chops to today's M.2 (32 Gb/s) SSDs; and should appeal to enthusiasts with older boards that lack M.2 slots. The Wings X2, on the other hand, is a RAID-on-a-stick card. Its main PCB is essentially a SATA RAID card with two SATA 6 Gb/s back-planes. With two 2.5-inch SSDs (possibly the company's own Wings or SSDWrk-series drives installed, the controller puts out a host-abstract RAID 0 volume.
