EVGA announced its first "VR Ready" graphics card that comes with preparation for HMD VR headsets out of the box. The GeForce GTX 980 Ti VR Edition includes a 5.25-inch/3.5-inch front-panel that gives you a front-facing HDMI 2.0 port (letting you easily plug in your HMD), and a second mini-HDMI 2.0 port on the card's rear panel that helps with certain kinds of headsets. The front panel also throws in a couple of USB 3.0/3.1 ports with a standard USB 3.0 header that plugs into your motherboard. EVGA is offering two kinds of cooling solutions, ACX 2.0+ and a blower-type custom-design cooler. The GTX 980 Ti sticks to reference clock speeds.

The location of the HDMI cable will cause troubles. Sooner or later that thing will bend.

"However, the Oculus Rift CV1 will be a no go as the headset requires four USB ports for it to be powered, two more than what the EVGA GTX 980 Ti VR Edition offers.

What's the point then?
1x 3.0 USB port for the headset
1x 3.0 USB port for the 3D Positional Tracker
1x 3.0 USB port for Oculus Touch (available at a later date)
1x 2.0 USB port for Xbox wireless controller

So? what are you saying?
well the first and obvious one is that the headset doesn't take 4 ports to "power". it takes 1.
second The 3d positional tracker is a camera that will be left hooked up. so it can go into the back of the PC.
third the oculus touch is wireless and only requires a receiver be plugged into a usb port. That can go anywhere.
and finally fourth the xbox controller is wireless it only requires a receiver. and that can go anywhere.

Now, I don't know about anybody else, But I only see myself really needing 1 usb port on the front for the headset itself..

Edit: I'm not here to argue with anybody. I'm just clearing up some misinformation :) I think I've made my point. Unfollowing this thread.
