The Hydro X line consists of three members with capacities ranging from 450 W to 650 W. All feature Gold-certified efficiency and Japanese electrolytic caps, but aren't equipped with modular cables in an effort to reduce cost. The 550 W Hydro X model will be put to the test today.

I would have expected better from FSP as I like the brand, but this one looks cheap and is meant to be cheap, but isn't.

This is the most weird of all. Why did they choose to alter a functional methodology for a properly working fan controller( HGX450) , to a non-functional one !! (HGX550).
I see these kind of things, and i fear that some constructional decisions taken by PSU companies, might be completely random or experimental!!

everything in design is experimental till it is proven wrong (or right on the long run)
