AMD today at its Capsaicin & Cream event unveiled a new VR technology: Asynchronous Reprojection. This technology was achieved in partnership with HTC, makers of the HTC Vive VR HMD, and Valve, promoters of SteamVR. The company also stressed how forward-rendering engines (technology that makes the GPU predict and render ahead of user input), are to be sen as a cornerstone of future VR development, particularly as it stands to its ability to cushion performance drops.
