€140/$159? A score of 8.8? Gets the TPU highly recommended seal? Really?
First. This looks like a prototype. Who uses screws to attach screens? That should have been a full point deduction.
Second. This is a lower end, cheap build with a pretty face. Clues? How about that flat back with the screws for the expansion slots on the outside of the case under a screwed (again with the screws
) on cover. That should have been a full point deduction.
Third. Even the
Rosewill Challenger, which often goes on sale for ~$30-40, breathes better than this POS. Another -1.
Forth. I can understand putting a fan that has no access to fresh air in a small case that has limited ventilation, but in this big case, it should be something like a 2 point deduction. How about a 3 point deduction, one for each fan mount.
The be quiet! Silent Base 600 was dinged for having the rear fan on the same plane as the expansion slots, but no mention is made of it here. It
looks worse on the be quiet!, but it's exactly the same in this case.
This case tries to pretend that it's a high end luxury sports car, but in reality, its a four cylinder Dodge Journey. And you live in Colorado Springs.
Therefore, 8.8 is way too high of a score.
My prediction for this case? (at least in the US market) This will be a case that will be sold at a steep discount with a huge mail in rebate, the $30-80 type.
Rant:
Hardware reviewers need to be able to fail a product, but under the current system of manufacturers sending free products for them to review, that will most likely result in finding themselves without product to review. Therefore, although it seems like the reviews are based on a 1-10 scale, it's really only an 6-10 scale. The lowest score given on this site is a 6.0. The lowest score given to a case by this reviewer is a 6.2 to the original SilverStone Temjin Series TJ08, which is almost unrecognizable in comparison to the TJ08B-E that we have today.
Look at it this way. The score for this case is only .8 lower than the Fractal Design Define C. 8 tenths less. Really? The be quiet! Silent Base 600 scored 6 tenths lower????
@Darksaber , you have to modify your scoring. This case has very few features, and therefore it ends up with very few deductions. That be quiet! Silent Base 600 has many features, and since you didn't like how many of them were implemented, you gave it more deductions. Your reviews are scored against some perfect, do it all case. The only way that I can think of to show you what I mean is for you to look at a PSU reviewer. Does a 450 watt PSU get a deduction because it can't run GTX 1080 Ti's in SLI? No. I think you gave the be quiet! Silent Base 600 a deduction for its less than ideal fan controller implementation. Did you give this case a deduction because it doesn't have a fan controller?
