Costing less than $40, the Aukey KM-G8 offers excellent value for the money. It features Outemu Blue mechanical switches in a full-size layout which, coupled with a metal frame and minimal bezels, results in a compelling replacement for OEM membrane keyboards.

If anything, this keyboard confirms my belief that a mechanical keyboard really doesn't have to push the $200 price tag.

Expect to pay a premium for Cherry MX switches, and better software drivers. The rest come down to retail channels and brand presence mostly.

Yeah, but we're talking 4x the price here. At over $150 there are usually RGB lights and at least a USB port thrown in there. Still, a huge markup.
And about software, mine (G.Skill's) is a PoS through and through.

The TKL version (KM-G9) went for around $23 CAD yesterday with a 50% coupon code on Amazon.ca

Didn't purchase one as I already have a keyboard, but it's interesting to see that the quality and value far outweighs its cost.

That was a fantastic deal- 23 CAD is about $18.50 USD only!
