Thermal Solutions specialist GELID Solutions unveils its latest CPU cooler for Intel and AMD CPU. The Tornado is a product of GELID Solutions SILENT product line. The Tornado comes with a 3D optimized lightweight heatsink that matches best-in-class cooling performance. It features a special copper base with soldered joints and 4 Nickel Plated power heat pipes in a unique constellation to substantially improve heat transfer within the heatsink elements. Compact size and high-compatibility design both ensure the Tornado perfectly fits most Tower and Desktop chassis available in the market. Full support of TDP 160W guarantees the best CPU performance in games and business applications.

An improved 120 mm fan with the intelligent GELID PWM (Pulse Width Module) control compliments the heatsink. The new Double Layer Fan Blade technology is applied to distribute air flow efficiently at low speed, and the redesigned PWM IC eliminates any clicking noise. The intelligent GELID PWM curve constantly keeps the fan silent but accelerates speed whenever additional cooling is needed. Additionally, the award winning high-performance GC-Pro thermal compound is already included in the package. Enhanced mounting clips for multiple AMD CPU sockets AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, FM1, FM2 and for Intel CPU LGA 775, 1366, 1155, 1156, 1150, 1151 sockets, as well as the back plate for AMD and Intel mainboards are all included too. The Tornado is even compatible to AMD 's AM4 socket but the clip needs to be purchased separately.

The cooler is RoHS and WEEE conform and carries a 2 year warranty.

"Tornado brings the features of top-notch CPU coolers to the mainstream. It delivers exceptional cooling performance and supports the latest CPU series of AMD and Intel with TDP up to 160W", said Gebhard Scherrer, Sales Director of GELID Solutions Ltd.

The Tornado is available now and has a MSRP of USD 27 or Euro 22. For more information, visit the product page.

ya, ' bout time they came out with this cooler design . I never seen anything quite like it .... lol ....

I guess on these if they got mounting made easier and a big reduced price over the 100's of like tower coolers maybe got something going for it .. outside of that its what one on sale the day you need to add to cart.

what gets me on these coolers they stick out horizontal from the board and we all know heat rises up not to the side so if the material use don't quickly conduct the heat

then they stick out like a lever / sore thumb bump it just right trying to change ing out or fixing something in the case you may put bad stress on the socket area ..

one good thing I guess it don't look heavy .

I tend to prefer the low pro /top flow with the cooler turned up from the CPU and the fan blowing down on to the cpu/ board . then what do I know ?

Hey, if you have some new ideas, why don't you go make a great product and get rich? As clearly all the coolers in the market today are made the wrong way. The Gelid guys have only been doing this stuff for 15+ years...

sounds like they got plenty of your money ? 15 years of the same stuff knocked off of other brands same stuff .. I don't need to make something when theres something that fit my needs elsewhere . all these years whats changed ? little to nothing on this

then if you cant grt heat rises not horizontally . I cant help you there unless you board lies flat then it may be ok ?

anyway sorry I offended you

Knocked off? You clearly know nothing about Gelid, so please take your toxic opinions elsewhere.

Also, you clearly have zero understanding about how these types of coolers work. Maybe do some research before you comment next time?
