Called SNIPER X, G.SKILL's new memory release is optimized for Intel's latest entry-level chipset motherboards and CPUs. These enthusiast-grade G.SKILL DDR4 modules are thematically matched to specific motherboards designs - and for all you RGB haters out there - do not include LEDs.

Nice review. Regarding DDR4 speed, is it more dependent on the MoBo comparing to CPU IHC or DRAM themselves. I can't for the life of me get my DDR4-3000 kits to run at 3200 stable and am too afraid to dial up vccsa now.

What it has to do with the review? The XMP as such has been and is such an abstract thing, it rarely even works as intended in the profile, the motherboard will force their own specifics either way.

The thing needs work and total overhaul how to be advertised and presented correctly due to the platform differences. It has been years and there is a mess for sure...

And sky is blue and piss is yellow... What did you expect? VCCSA is not only what exactly will help with old X99 to get 3200 stable at all... not even worth mentioning.

Or it manages to rile up both camps ;)

If XMP was fully fleshed out, it would be a standard. As it is, the moment you step outside the (JEDEC) standard, results are unpredictable. Not even remotely surprising.

In the conclusion it's referred to as "Cameo print" in stead of Camo print.
Personally I think it looks more like snake skin.

One thing worth to mention is that this kit is not available for about 3 months. It's not even listed on G.Skill website anymore. It was replaced by CL19-20-20 just after the premiere. I got my sample in March, It was classic camo version but the same specs.
As it was mentioned in the review, it works good on Intel and AMD at 3600 if motherboard can handle this frequency ( on AMD will run at 3600 CL20-19-19 while using XMP ). Pretty good memory but I guess that readers will complain about relaxed timings.

sure..some1 want them so there is good to mem parts without them also.

I like the looks of it, and LED lights are not required for me.
I do have some RGB RAM sticks and they do look good in their place.

No easy answer, unfortunately.

LOL. It wasn't when I checked price for the review, but yep, seems this model is out of stock! The series isn't though. There's lots of TUF Gaming Alliance ram these days, so... ;) And yeah, updated camo print for the new TUF boards.

Personally, I like LEDs. Can't tell ya why. Then being able to control the LEDs is an fantastic bonus, because, then hopefully if you don't like 'em you can turn them off. But I totally understand some people do not. Hard to please everyone with that one for sure.

I always disliked RGB LED lighting. It was just the idea of it being unnecessary and a waste of money. Over time, everyone seems to be offering it.
Now that it's more mainstream and included on everything from motherboards to keyboards to case fans, I'm liking the effect on my builds. The costs are now minimal.
No, it doesn't improve performance, but it's easy on the eye and RGB lighting doesn't produce enough heat to matter to your case's temps.

My wife and daughter keep complimenting the systems with RGB lights in them. So when I built my wife a Ryzen-5 1600X box for her office, I included some RGB bling to go with her ASUS ROG Strix Gaming RGB mainboard and the AMD Wraith Prism cooler I used. All of the case fans are RGB and I have them changing their intensity slowly from red to green. (colors that she liked the most)
Ryzen likes fast RAM and I was able to get my 16GB of Geil DDR4-3200MHz. RAM to run at the proper speed. It's RGB enabled too, so add it to the overall effect for her.

She's really happy with it and when Momma's happy, the whole house is happy.

Does anyone know the PCB type of this memory (A0 or A2) for Ryzen DRAM calculator?
