The G.SKILL Trident Z sticks have been around for a while now, available in a multitude of colors and speeds, as well as with RGB. These 4000 MHz sticks are for all you non-RGB lovers out there, but with such a high speed, you best make sure your motherboard and CPU are capable.

Can 2 of those pairs be used with the same timings and freq for a total of 32GB?

As usually it has no guarantee about that. Quad mode depends how smart is your motherboard bios during training phase and sets up tetriary timing set. and how good the IMC handles the stress.

The latter tier timings matter greatly too, people tend to ignore them.

Is it possible to get the timings on the graph labels or otherwise specified somewhere? I'm curious how much better 4000mhz with loose timings is than 3200 C14, for instance

Dave,

This is a super old kit. I had this running at 4000/19 XMP'd gee, like way back in December 2015 with a 6700K delidded and binned from SL at 4.8Ghz and a Maximus VIII Extreme.

My kit was the original black and silver with the red plastic accent piece. eeewww :p

I sold it and went with the much more responsive 3200/14 kit in the silver with white inserts like this kit you have.

I've never understood why Gskill calls it silver, it looks like gunmetal gray to me. :D

Sloppy timings, rather a slower kit with 01.01.01.00001 timings please

Why is it good to have "No led" but bad to have "No RGB" ??

Well RGB LEDs sell well, so are popular. But many of the readers here also like no LEDs... So rather than give my own opinion about it, I try to stick to facts, and facts are that for some it is good, and for some, it's bad.

Personally... I think these newer kits are better. I did have a 3866 MHz set wit the red topper too, so I know exactly what you are talking about. ;)

A good set of 4000 MHz sticks will run 4000 MHz @ 16-16-16. 3200 C14 sticks can't do that as easily, it seems. We do have a Corsair kit with looser timings shown, and unfortunately, the 3200 MHz C14 set I had, I gave to @W1zzard for his own review purposes, so I do not have it available to add to my benchmarks. I guess you could look at our memory scaling article and compare results there for a general idea, but I do realize that's not exactly what you are asking for. Maybe the "new guy" will be able to show this if he finds time in his review schedule.

This is the last memory review posted by me (this one has been done for a while now); look for @Black Haru to post his own memory reviews soon.

Nah, I prefer to vote with my wallet. Best solution is to not buy such products. Its same as not buying game from EA.

I had LEDS on my DDR3 ram it was epic back in the day, back when people where putting neos in there cases LMAO.
