XSPC decided that they could do more than just compete for that extra decimal point of thermal performance improvement and have introduced an ultra-thin radiator with their new TX series. Measuring in at just 20.5 mm thick, it provides a compact heat dissipation solution for watercooled SFF builds.

Quite positive there is a lot of stuff that could be done with liquid cooling, but issue is probably if someone would 1) buy it or 2) be able to pay for it.

I don't see SFF builds using a 360mm radiator. A cramped case sure, but not SFF. Thanks for the review. Was interesting.

This is a representation for the entire series, and of course you can use a 240 mm or 120 mm version to expect similar relative behavior.

With less and less cases having the option to get tubing to the outside, this could be something for me to finally reactivate my watercooling setup. My 1080 (9*120mm) radiator is sadly only possible to connect externally.

@VSG

Maybe you can get some of these guy's stuff: http://www.magicool.biz/product_radiator.htm

I've had good results with one of their slim 280s and they are reasonably priced.

Thanks.
Magicool is more an OEM than a brand these days, I had contacted them a couple of years ago and things seemed to be progressing for review samples but then nothing. I will try again and see!

Thanks, I bought mine from a well known e-tailer in retail packaging.

i'm thinking about using the 240mm version in a node 202. im not sure if i should do a 30mm rad with thin noctua fans or regular fans with thin rad. right now i'm leaning towards thin rad with normal fans because it seems that thermal performance gains in 45mm or thinner rads diminish exponentially as airflow increases. noise will be lower this way too

it's going to be an AMD 2600 + vega 64

probably old stock. performance PCs isn't getting any new models and a lot of magicool's stuff is on 25-40% off clearance sales

+1 for thin rad and standard fan. Noiseblocker bionic are lovely.

A thin rad is supposed to give less air flow resistance too, they are also cheaper I think.

Mine (Magicool) is working well (1800x + 2 x V64, now where's that 3850X? <G>) with two other larger rads, I would not have been able to fit a thicker one, so that's another + for the thin ones, you can get them into smaller spaces. ;)

Are you planning to just use the one rad for the CPU and GPU? I think you'll need at least a 2nd rad. If just for the CPU it should be fine. I have 1 x 280 (30mm), 1 x 140 (40mm) and the 240 thin one in a Corsair 540.

I must cover up those Alphacool logos at some point, not happy with their "support"/quality at all, the radiators seem OK at least. ;)

I don't think it was old stock when here we are many months later and there are pre-orders for new models:

yea, i'm planning on using that one 240mm rad for both. i've done something like this before (5930K + 980Ti). as long as you keep your OC modest it shouldn't be a problem. look at this way; cheap, asetek 120mm AIO cooling units have no problems keeping vega 64 cards and desktop CPUs cool, so 240mm should be enough for GPU and CPU.

this computer is going to move between 2 locations a few times a month by a person with really bad back problems and i need it to be as light and compact as possible. my target weight is 10Kg (22 pounds)

Good luck to them with the lifting, I'm with them there having a lot of arthritis myself. ;) or maybe :(

If you undervolt the GPU you should be OK or worst case it will just throttle a bit. Running chill and a FRTC of 60Hz helps too.
