The EVGA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti XC Black is the company's compact custom-designed GTX 1660 Ti offering at NVIDIA's baseline price of $279. The card is triple-slot, but makes up for it with a shorter length. We saw excellent OC potential that reached maximum clocks matching more expensive cards.

With 38 dBA, idle fan noise is a little bit high

You might want to revise that ;)

But man, this solution from EVGA stinks. 3 slots and it still ends up being loud.

I like how W1zzard addresses the potential RTX haters directly in the conclusion.

Meanwhile execellent little card. 30% faster stock VS stock comparing to RX590 is pretty wild. Not to mention this thing OC quite well.

Let’s hope Intel pulls some magical trick and actually deliever on their Intel Xe GPU.

Only one DP output! Why DVI or HDMI still? My $209 EVGA 1060 6GB has 3xDP + HDMI + DVI.

That goes by Nvidia specs for the card: Standard Display Connectors DP 1.4a, HDMI 2.0b, DL-DVI-D

I would say that is a quite balanced video outputs card to have. DL-DVI for good old dl-dvi monitor owners, DP for gsync ad hdmi for TVs.
Well of course it's not enough video outputs to offer that up-to 4 monitors that gpu can drive at the same time.

I have 3x4K DP screens. My 1060 drives them. The 1660 Ti cannot! I don't care what the "nv card spec" says, at the end of the day, does the card do what I need. Price is up and functionality is down.

Well this one can't, there's other gtx1660ti which can. Well if it have to be evga then you are right, they don't have model with different video outputs, Yet. This is actually only gtx1660ti graphics card reviewed on tpu which does not have 3xDPs

Agree, having a 3-slot mid-end card is just weird. At least they could included 1-slot and 2-slot brackets as a bundle.

Not a fan of the 3 slot, otherwise looks like a great product. Prefer a 2 slot, they could have just made it longer like the older generations. Also, some ITX cases only have 2 slots available on the case back panel.

They didn't need to make the cards longer. Everybody else is able to offer the same performance and a bit better acoustics with two-slot solutions.
To add insult to injury, this is how EVGA describes this solution on their site: "EVGA RTX 2060 2.75 Slot Cards give you more front-to-back space without sacrificing cooling performance of acoustic noise." (replace RTX 2060 with GTX 1660Ti, it's the same solution).
Why would they rub that 2.75 slot in my face? What am I going to do with the remaining quarter of a slot? It's not even enough for proper air flow, you still need to vacate the next slot. Making this effectively a 4 slot card.

This card doesn't deserve to be an Editor's Choice. It's much louder than the Zotac and takes an extra slot. If it had come with the idle fan feature then maybe some kind of praise could be justified. As it is, it's not worthwhile unless someone plans to spend more money on a waterblock or something to replace the fan unit.

It's a turkey. TPU should have a Turkey's Choice award for a product like this. It's clear that EVGA didn't bother to put out something competitive. At least when EK released its subpar TR block it managed to semi-justify it by being the first to market.

I just got a Radeon VII for my 2700x rig, but boy, for the price, this is an outstanding little card with chops.

Nice review with a lot of games.

This looks like a BIG selling card for Nvidia.

Likely will be for the budget market.
Budget? At $279? This is a mid-range priced above the average for that segment.
Of course, thanks to AMD recycling Polaris in the same segment for years, this is also a great buy.

Edit: well, not exactly this card (this card sucks overall), but 1660Ti in general.

Really? I remember when a high end video card was $350. That was 25 years ago. Granted, I'm not saying that the prices are great, just that we can't expect things to stay the same all the time.

Is this the world's first single fan triple slot card? I can't remember ever seeing one before if it isn't. Certainly an oddity none-the-less.

Tbh, true budget card have been killed by IGPs. These day I would only call "budget", card like GTX 1050 or lower (and their AMD equivalents).

I see your point. Although, even a 1030 cleans the clock of anything Intel has to offer. Only the Vega based IGP's from AMD offer a solid gaming experience, which are on the impressive side for an IGP.

While faster, if all you do is office work, a 1030 won't make much sense. Intel can do the job just fine. Personally, I have never built a system and thought, "hey, a cheap dGPU will make sense here". The segment is not completely dead, of course, it's just become more of a niche because of IGPs.
And as for gaming on cheap cards, in my mind that's just like the first fix that's always free :D
