Bethesda revealed that "Wolfenstein Youngblood" will launch a day earlier for the PC platform globally, on July 25. Console platforms PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch get the game on July 26. This prioritization of the PC platform is symbolic and underscores the vast revenue-base the platform constitutes. The PC is already Ubisoft's biggest revenue source.

A separate VentureBeat report reveals that at launch, "Youngblood" won't support real-time ray-traced eye-candy, which would be added at a later date through a patch. "We're working together with NVIDIA on that, but ray tracing won't be available at launch," said executive producer Jerk Gustafsson. "Youngblood" will be one of the first non-DirectX AAA titles to implement RTX. The game uses the Vulkan 3D API, and its RTX feature-set is exclusively NVIDIA's handiwork.

In other news, Bethesda put out the minimum- and recommended system-requirements for the PC version. The minimum requirements read like this:
  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Win7, 8.1, or 10 (64-Bit versions)
  • Processor: AMD FX-8350/Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i5-3570/i7-3770
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 770 4 GB (Current available GPU GTX1650) or AMD equivalent
  • Storage: 40 GB available space
And the recommended requirements go as follows:
  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Win7, 8.1, or 10 64-Bit
  • Processor: AMD FX-9370/Ryzen 5 1600X or Intel Core i7-4770
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB (Current available GPU RTX 2060) or AMD equivalent
  • Storage: 40 GB available space
The company also put out pre-load schedules for various platforms:
  • Xbox One - Preload will begin on July 23 at 8:00am ET
  • PlayStation 4 - Preload will begin 48 hours before launch in your territory
  • Steam/BNET - Preload will begin on July 23 at 1:00pm ET

Nice to see Vulcan only games, but they still need to still fix a few bugs in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. You can see the problems in the discussions on steam where a number of users are still getting constant ''could not write crash dump'' errors.

so RTX feature is harder to implement inside game...waiting for 5 years or maybe more till i upgrade to powerful GPU that runs flawless.

Everything is hard at first. It doesn't help that this also doubles as proving ground for Vulkan RTX, but somebody's got to do the first step. I'm excited because this most likely means RTX for Linux soon ;)

LOL

Neither will DOOM ETERNAL

What a failure this RTX marketing "IT JUST WORKS" is..

The next installment in the Doom franchise will be launching on consoles, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia, and PC on November 22, 2019. The PC version of the game will not be supporting NVIDIA’s RTX features at launch, but the development team has announced that implementing ray tracing effects and support for NVIDIA’s hardware is a priority and will be addressed after the game’s release.

I think this is because of Vulkan API.Doom Will be First game that supports RTX along with Vulkan.

Edit : I just noticed WOLF is first ! so doom will be second.

Who said "it just works"? Which new gfx tech ever "just worked"?

Forget about Nvidia for a second and think about this: DX has DXR and now Vulkan is close to having something similar. The two most widespread GFX APIs will soon have support for RTRT. What does that tell you?

gonna get this with my 2070s,not really into it since no terror billy=no fun but it'll certainly be interesting from a technical standpoint,an RTX game running Vulkan.New Colossus looked really good and ran super well on 1080ti,with turing it does half precision and variable rate shading too.

Meaning it just works like in real life, not that it's necessary easier to implement than rasterizing. Albeit it should be easier too; no need to bake lights and use game developing time to actual game development. But current development have to do baking anyway, can't do only RT when most of the user base is non-RT hw.

Lol@this mentality. Just...lol.

Anyway, already pre-ordered. Like A Way Out, you can play co-op with a single copy of the game if you get the Deluxe Edition (was $32 on GMG). True co-op games are few and far between so this was a no-brainer.

Nope. I don't follow marketing shows.

I don't follow trade shows either but the clip of JHH saying that still somehow ended up shoved in my face.

Also why'd you question him in the first place? It's like you questioned a lawyer/police officer about something regarding policy. After they provide an answer contrary to what you were expecting your response was don't follow law.

And yet I've enjoyed every Wolfenstein game, but I guess it's not for everyone. It seems every article I read on this site these days is littered with negativity. Whether it's hardware, software, games, prices. You name it, it'll be filled with doom-mongering. Happy days.
