According to the recent round of rumors, NVIDIA could extend its budget GPU offering on October 22nd when it will launch the new GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card. Expected to sit between GTX 1650 and GTX 1660, the new graphics card is supposed to be NVIDIA's answer to AMD's unannounced, low-end NAVI GPUs rumored to be called the RX 5600 series.

As per ITHome, GTX 1650 Ti will be priced at 1100 yuan which translates to $155, meaning that either GTX 1650 will get a price cut to sit below new Ti model or upcoming GTX 1650 Ti will have a price slightly above the rumored number. Envisioned to feature 4 GB of VRAM and anything between 1024 to 1280 CUDA cores, the new GPU could provide a good balance between current offerings and reduce the gap between GTX 1650 and GTX 1660 graphics cards.

Remember the days when Nvidia would launch a new GPU line every 12mths, sometimes nearly doubling performance of the previous cards, instead of releasing a constant dribble of rehashed crap like this...

if they can match 1060 6GB performance for 75w....that actually a lot of performance for such power. then once nvidia move to 7nm we probably can get GTX1660Ti/GTX 1070 performance in 75w package.

Why would it? The 1660 doesn't even have the Turing encoder, so no one should expect this to have it.

Why not? More options to choose from.

What if low end RX5600 is actually Polaris re-re-refresh? After all they had a huge stock of Polaris due to the mining craze. It can also explain why older Polaris got Radeon Image Sharpening first.

R&D does not follow natural time line. As silicon shrink it becomes increasingly hard to improve performance. Slow incremental growth is the normal pace.

The 1660 does have Turing's encoder as it is based on the TU116 GPU. Right now, the only Turing chip that features an older version of NVIDIA's NVENC block is the TU117, the chip on which the GTX 1650 is based (and on which the GTX 1650 Ti will probably be).

I'm honestly starting to believe that this is a deliberate nvidia tactic to address competition and market dominance through sheer volume alone, performance and relevance be damned...the only thing visible to the customer is green ,there's no need to understand his preferences

At worst case a replacement for 1060 at the same price and performance probably. Not so bad though

So is it welcomed to get the same card for the same performance and price 3 years and 3 months after the original? LOL

All Nvidia should do is to cut 20% of the current prices from 1660ti and below no need for a new card but what do I know?
It's interesting to read this. In my opinion the only thing released with a correct price tag was the 1660 and 1660 Ti in this generation.

For some reason that reminds me of Intel these days. Hmmm

Price war begins, nvidia possible need down GTX 1650 to 120us maybe less because navi 14 possible entry with very good prices specially if have 3gb, 4gb and 8gb models

Maybe 3gb model use non common memory bus 96bit - 160bit?

Only need know navi 14 price and performance

First we need to know what Navi 14 is or if it will be an actual product. Folks at AMD are already talking RDNA2 for 2020. Small window for a product launch barring a refresh if you ask me.

This is probably going to be a really nice bump for gaming laptops. I know the 1050 Ti was the performance per watt champion last go around. This will probably replace it as the go-to for sub $1000 laptops that still have decent battery life. As for desktop cards, I doubt it will drive more sales than Nvidia currently gets in the 16xx line, but it could slow the flow to AMD in that market once the smaller Navi chips get released.

Well gtx1650 mobile is already full tu117 chip instead of cut down desktop variant. So I doubt it will make a big difference on mobile side of the fence...

On the desktop side though it would give a decent speed bump over currently overpriced gtx1650. Full tu117 still has ~14% more TFlops/clock(I.E. gtx1660 is closer to gtx1660ti than that) and paired with faster gddr6 memory would give it a decent edge on bw too(heck OC gtx1650 memory gives you ~10% speed bump alone). With that config it would probably close the gap to RX 570. So hopefully we see gtx1650ti at $149 and gtx1650 reduced to $109 as it should have been on the beginning. Sure it would upset :nutkick: many gtx 1650 owners...

Also AIB partners are obliged to release custom version with any of chip nvidia release.

As for the poll, yes we need. It's gonna fill a tiny niche market of half height (low profile) gpus. So we can easily upgrade all of those sff systems out there.

Uhhh....The 1650 already exists, already shows a decent jump over the 1050ti, and already pulls 80+ watts at peak. There is literally nothing a LP 1650 ti could do the 1650 cant already do, as power is your limiting factor here.

I doubt.. could be like 750 Ti; the reference model didn't have one, AIBs could have a power connector.
