The ASUS GeForce GTX 1650 Super STRIX OC is the company's most premium GTX 1650 Super variant available. It comes with a large overclock out of the box, and its dual-fan cooler achieves excellent temperatures and noise levels. A backplate is included, too.

If this was $180, it would be worth the $20 over the stock's MSRP. $200 straight is pushing it though. But if you need a light card that bests the RX 580 and meets up with the RX 590 at a good price, this seems like the one.

Gaming X is $20 cheaper and performs the same. The Asus tax at it again.

I don't see $200... for basically just getting a card with only 4Gb and strong 1080p... and being quite, it's not a value. Even when you can point to it having that strong additional OC headroom, it really isn't giving much as it's still not a good card to "pay-up" thinking it can provide good 1440p if considering down the road you'd move up.

A 25% markup in price for what?? :shadedshu:
Because they can. Because they are a global brand and they have much higher production capacity and reach than some other companies.

So it's cute that in the perfect virtual world of reviews and specs (and maybe on Amazon US or newegg) you can choose from 10 different 1650 Super models. :)

What happens in real world is: when you go to a large store that you usually buy from, especially to a physical location, there won't be any EVGA, Palit or Zotac cards. Shelves will be full of ASUS and MSI boxes.
This could be because EVGA isn't sold at all (no distribution to your country) or because the 100 items that local distributor managed to secure (priced at excellent $160), sold in 2 days. ASUS is able to provide a truck full of these Strix models, so they can ask $200. After 2 days that EVGA alternative is gone.

Do keep in mind that entry level cards aren't really aimed at large, rich markets with good availability of many brands (in stores like newegg, microcenter etc), because clients there go for higher models.

No cooling on vrm. Not all memory has identical cooling.
Just why is this a premium strix card, when Asus has cut these corners?
