The ADATA SE800 is an NVMe based external SSD, which means it offers much better performance than earlier external storage. In our testing we saw speeds of up to 1 GB/s, which, paired with the 1 TB capacity on the SE800, makes it an excellent choice if you want to move a lot of data around.

It is only waterproof with the cap closed. It won't be waterproof in use since cap has to be in an open position.

It is milspec shock-resistant and very light at about 40 grams. The custom PCB makes it smaller and lighter than competing external ssd's, and coupled with its shock, dust, and water resistance, makes it a very unique offering. The only meaningful drawback I can see is it is dram-less, meaning less reliability (but cheaper).

I got the black 1tb SE800 for just $135 with a coupon from Google Shopping. Very happy with the purchase. Fast, durable, small, light, and low heat/power consumption.
