Alphacool goes all in on RGB lighting with their all-copper Eisbaer Aurora 360. Not only does this all-in-one liquid cooler deliver reliable performance, but it also allows for optional expansion via quick release fittings and support for the company's Eiswolf product line.

Not bad unit for price. 2 year warranty is fine, as this is not even a closed loop. Compared to other WC parts are either 1 or 2 years anyway.

Solid performance for what it is.

The expansion option does seem really proprietary though. I don't think you can add anything but Alpha cool equipment on.

I may be wrong but I don't think I've ever seen them sell those QCs as universal type addons.

I have an Eisbear. Changing the fans will unleash the potential of these coolers. I use some Arctic F14s. The plate looks like it can fit the IHS for TR4.

I like the looks of it and the ability to expand.

But that noise...

Fixable if you replace the fans but you need to spend extra.

Alphacool's QDCs are pretty crap. Significant leakage during connection/separation since the screw threads mean the valves don't snap open/closed cleanly and are held in a partially unsealed state for a couple seconds. Very messy. If you go into it expecting that though they're OK for ~$13/pair.

If building from the ground up though, I would definitely spend the extra and get proper Koolance QDCs.

They gimped the performance with those terrible RGB fans. If it had proper square frame fans that actually sealed to the radiator it probably would have been a top performer in every aspect.

You could buy the Arctic F14s which are really inexpensive and would give you better performance for a cost of $40 for 5 or $8 each. Even with 3 of them that would still bring the Eisbaer 360 under offerings from other manufacturers.

Good point.

I mean, they are standard 1/4 fittings so you can add whatever you want. If you want to keep using quick disconnect stuff you'll have to keep using alpacool. I am in for one. Bought a corsair hydro x gpu block for my 5700 xt that I plan on adding to it with another set of quick disconnect cables. I'll let you know how it goes.

Got the system. I added some arctic 120s I had previously to do push pull exhausting out the top of my case (011 dynamic). Before attaching the gpu block (so cpu only) I was keeping around 56c under load with PBO on. With the gpu block they both get up into the 70s. High 70s for the gpu hotspot. Overall I'm happy with the thermals. Don't think I have much room for gpu overclocking. Especially if I upgrade from my 3600 at some point to a 3900 or higher. Happy with the performance for a cheap, open loop system. Not sure the pump could handle another 360 rad, but I might test it some time and if it doesn't work I'll know it's time to upgrade to a dedicated pump and reservoir. Could maybe add their 280 extreme instead to add a 2nd pump or swap to add an eiswolf (probably would have to eat the price of the block then) but price wise I'm not 100% sure that makes sense either.
