The Thermaltake View 51 TG Snow ARGB is a good-looking, functional chassis that not only offers elaborate looks and uses plenty of glass, but also ships with a nice fan setup and the ability to hold massive amounts of liquid cooling.

Are those screws or rivets that are holding the frame together?

For this price they better be screws. I'm looking for something similar but with screws, so I can mod it easily.

Id flip the front fans around to exhaust and run air through the 3 dust filters... Would mean putting intake fans on the bottom and sides tho for sure. If you use rads then not the best solution for cooling but the airflow alone should be mad and thus not that bad. Otherwise 2 big fans putting in all that air means the case will fill up with dust rather quick. Youd find yourself cleaning the 3 dust filters on the inside... Thats just nuts.

Have View 51TG Black because on balance it is more interesting (but too expensive) than O-11 DynXL. Managed to purchase it shortly before all that Human Malware-19 pandemonium broke out in EU.

IMG_0086.JPG

Because reviews never tell whole story, my experiences below:

Rivet construction. It has more space inside, compared to smaller XL, but even so it's tiny compared to all cases I've used before, but decided on something smaller because age is starting to catch up with me. :D

Of course it's TT so you have to take into account that quality is not up to snuff. And of course it is not. First order of business was to throw away all that bloody RGB stuff (ok, not throw away, but send to recycling, literally day after I got the case). Fans were garbage and leave it at that. Also disposed of that stupid vertical mount - if it was for all 7 -8 slots yeah I get it, but only for VGAs whats the bloody point?

Glass in front of fans is not as bad as you may think. Using 1500 rpm NoiseBlockers in pull behind 16FPI rads and I get nice airflow from front to back. Enough for 970 EVO on the board underneath VGAs to not melt and stay around 40ish C. I just finished new iteration of my rendering machine based on TRX40 Designare and next week will start to transfer bits and bobs to it, TB3 card will come after everything else is in. Compared to other cases it's super tight fit for everything, but comparing this to TH10A or open P5/P7 is not possible.

One thing I have to reiterate because it's "NORMAL" in all TT cases I have. Save yourself frustration and order or get yourself proper thumbscrews (this case uses only 6/32" which sucks in Europe, but sourced bags from DimasTech). You need only to keep 3 thumbscrews (1 in HDD cage cover and 2 in side panel, which are special interlocked models). I have no idea if TT thread the screws when they are drunk or on crack - probably both. I took 6/32" screws from DT, MountainMods or CaseLabs (the irony!) and all slotted perfectly. TT screws are bloody useless after one use and never go straight from first moments.

Big drawback for me is only nominal 6 SSD spaces (in reality I can use only 5 - 2x2 in each of 3.5" bays and 1 on the side), have to think how to ducktape 3 more. This build is not finished, still have to move cables (used 2 different sets), waiting for fans which were damaged in shipping. It's maximum functionality build, I'm not bothered about not sleeved cables here and there, ease of (dust) maintenance is paramount, but sticking with my all prevalent Mass Effect SR-2 Normandy theme.

What else: PSU support is officially only 200mm, but with 3 seconds of modding you can put 220mm monsters inside - like EVGA 1600W P/T2 whatever. All you have to do is to press tiny metal bar on PSU holder down and you have free reign with big PSUs. Like I've said 3 seconds.

And finally annoying things. Thermaltake front panel USB ports are so tigthhhhhh I was really scared if I can remove the plugs. USB3 I don't even know if those work yet, because yesterday when was installing system had to use port on the back I/O. And that stupid 20-pin cable is so stiff you can really wrestle with it. For now used flat ribbon from Akasa, but I don't know if it works properly. Rubberized stands - remove them (held with piece of double sided tape) unless you have black desk. "Rubber" is rubbish, stains everything and probably sourced from cheapest recycled shit imaginable (recycled waste rubber is not allowed in most countries, simplest way to recognize it - it stinks like death).

Ahh one last thing, color is not black, its more gunmetalishly-black. I think TT changed paint shop, because P5/7 is beautiful black coat, this is not black, by any stretch (metal parts, plastics are black). All changes when you close all panels - it looks absolutely sweet (glass is not very dark).

Jayz2cents, I believe is boycotting their products.
Yeap he does, but let's face facts. Today everybody copies everybody. It's nothing more that child's game. Just accept and move on with things.

Might be decent with glass removed and some wire grills put over the fans. I like small sized full atx cases.
