MSI Announces Overclocking Records with Ryzen 4000G Processors

Since the AMD Ryzen 4000 Series Desktop Processors with PRO technologies have launched today, MSI 500-series motherboards are well-prepared to fully support for the new processors' coming. Compared to the Ryzen 3000 series CPUs, the AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Processors are built in a monolithic design based on the 7 nm architecture for both Zen 2 CPU and Vega GPU, which improves greatly in latency and bandwidth numbers with better efficiency in performance. Of course, MSI 500-series motherboards including X570 and B550 platform are perfectly compatible for the Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Processors.

AMD Ryzen PRO 4000 Series Processors offer greater CPU and memory performance for overclockers and enthusiasts to push benchmark to another level. MSI has showcased not only the best performance for memory frequency but also the memory stability with Memtest pass.



Both CPU frequency and DDR4 Memory stability of Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G are performed well. With MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI motherboard, CPU frequency can be pushed to 5800 MHz by LN2. The Ryzen 7 number looks good until you see it's single core.

Not the Ryzen 3, the Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G. That clearly is a much higher multiplier than 44x.

it's singlecore for ryzen 3 is by stock a gigahertz higher..

ryzen 7 4.4 ghz singlecore stock on a 65w tdp cpu for businesses, all I see is best in class in that space as intel offers whopping 6 cores\6threads at around 3.5 ghz allcore and 3.9 ghz singlecore turbo also they're locked cause god forbid someone remove it from an OEM system and install it on z390 and overclock it.

The 4750G reached almost 5.8Ghz. Is that even possible and there's a question. Is it on liquid or nitrogen? I assume it is not on air though although it is a laptop processor. It also doesn't show the voltage that's been used to achieve this.

yes, any board with a 'seperate' clockgen for the CPU allows it to raise base frequency x multiplier = clock.

Well all Ryzen processors based on Gamers Nexus do not like to go past 5.0 GHZ on LN2. Since that is about 600 MHZ higher than what you can achieve with an AIO I would venture to say that this may be the first AMD Ryzen processor that can do 5.0 GHZ on Water.

I understand BCLK in that manner, but multiplier? Aren't those CPUs supposed to be locked? It's kind of like overclocking a typical Xeon, 99% of the time they are locked multiplier wise.

I know what you are saying (I am no expert in Ln2 OC) but Ryzen CPUs are a pain to OC. The highest I have gotten to 4.5 GHZ on water are the 3300X and 3100x. The 2920 does not go past 4.2 GHZ (DH14 TR4 and 420MM AIO). The 1920 and 1900X are 4.015 GHZ max in Windows Task Manager. The 2600, 2700x and 2400G would also do 4.2 GHZ but really no higher (unless you want to run at 1.4+ volts which I would not recommend). Where Ryzen is great is memory speed and timing. DDR 3600 anything is really snappy but so is 3000 to 3200 with 14 to 15 clock cycles. Based on these scores I really want to see real world DDR 4000+ IGPU benchmarks. 7 nm Vega running at 2100 MHZ is pretty interesting actually.
