The QNAP QGD-1602P is an innovative product, a NAS and managed PoE switch in a single package. It is expensive, but offers numerous features and uses hardware capable of coping with demanding scenarios. Finally, its build quality is astonishing—this product is built like a tank.

Processor Q6600 // 2x Xeon 5472
Memory 2GB DDR // 8GB FB-DIMM
Video Card(s) HD3850-AGP // FireGL 3400

Software Windows Server 2003 R2 as a Workstation now migrated to W10 with regrets.
A really interesting solution to
1./ overcrowded small rack soho, 3 devices in single 1UE device
2./ network throughput bottleneck sticking a NAS on a single RJ45 1GB in soho environment. No, we DONT have 10GB in soho, and link aggregation is a cludge
3./ stick on some nice wifi APs e.g. unifi without having to buy a dedicated POE unit

I think you mean no 10GBASE-T ports out of the box, since it clearly has two SFP+ ports.

Also, does the OS run in the eMMC, or does it require installation on the drives as per their regular NAS boxes?

My bad about the HDMI, got confused with the QGD-1600P which had one. They dropped the HDMI port in this one. This is a major CON!

It's not supported by the CPU though.

Correct! Part of the OS runs on eMMC and as far as I know it also installs a part on the HDDs.

Yes, while the old one had a Celeron that included a GPU.

I would like to see 10G speedtests with either the dual onboard M.2 Slots or with an external QM2-2P-384. Is this anyhow possible to add this to the Review. I'm interested in 10G Speed only.

Now that is nice build quality. And a quality power supply with quality capacitors. Not like Ubiquiti PoE switches with trash power supplies that I’ve had to recap or replace multiple of.
