The Synology DS1621+ is an expensive high-performance 6-bay NAS server ideal for business environments. Its main asset is the huge total storage capacity with two optional expansion units. On the other hand, the lack of an embedded GPU means this is not the best NAS for multimedia applications.

I appreciate you taking your time to test these things thoroughly, but while a SSD-filled NAS can show how far it can be pushed, that's not very representative of how a NAS is normally used.

I saw you deducted points for the missing dampeners, but didn't deduct anything for their signature plastic bays.

Also, why is the "sleep" power reading missing for this unit?

Sorry for the late response but this period is crazy. About sleep, my SSDs are not recognized somehow by most NAS servers and don't fall into sleep mode.

SSDs are used in all NAS reviews, so the results are compatible. The point is to use the same storage hardware in every evaluation.

I write "Plastic HDD trays" in the CONs.

I know all reviews are used every time, I was just saying, including HDD results in there would yield numbers mere mortals are more likely to come across. At the same time, I realize this would add a lot of time to an already long review process. Consider adding HDDs for just one or two of the more common usage patterns maybe?

And no need to apologize for the late reply, I appreciate getting a reply at all.
