The ASUS Radeon RX 6700 XT STRIX OC has the best cooler of all the RX 6700 XT cards we've tested today. Temperatures are 20°C better than AMD's own card! The STRIX also offers special features, like dual BIOS and two case fan headers that are synchronized with the graphics card.

Well of course. who thought 192 bit bus on a $500-$800 card is a good idea. Should have been half in every way, but same 256 bus for navi 22/21. too late for 3070Ti, 40 series in 400-600 days.

Impressive, but not impressive enough for me to swap my 5700 XT for it. 12 GB VRAM isn't necessary for 1080p yet, so the only thing it could win my heart with is raytracing - where it lacks performance. A good start from AMD in the raytracing realm, but I guess I'll wait for Navi 3.

Precisely - $800 for this steaming turd is just laughable! :D

How is Asus getting around the poor OC performance other cards are showing? Is it a much much higher stock power limit?

Oh, c`mon: Some fan-speed overshoot as the card heats up.
They manage to cram in 17bil transistors to work together perfectly, but 3 fans, no, its too difficult to manage properly.

While it doesn't look like a big issue in my chart, it actually is, with certain games. If the game is a mix of high and low GPU activity, then the fans will ramp up and down a lot more, and run at higher speed.

This is mostly AMD's fault btw, because their fan control algorithm sucks, and the options for it in VBIOS, too, and there's no guidance to AIBs "we know it's not good, but here's what you should look for". OTOH some AIBs do get it right, so there is a way

My ROG Strix 5700 XT has the same issue. It's funny that Asus (AMD?) hasn't managed to fix it through all this time. At the heart of the problem, it seems to me like the GPU temp spikes up so rapidly under heavy load that the fans don't have enough time to spin up and keep things cool - thus, they ramp up a bit higher to control the situation, but slow down a bit once the GPU hits stable temps. High RPMs usually only last for a couple seconds, so I don't find it too annoying.

Edit: Sometimes I wish there was a modern-day replacement for my Palit KalmX 1050 Ti.

Looks sooo interesting but...
Over thousand dollars in local PC shop...
Also, to be allowed to pay this much You need to win a lottery :p
If a public business puts easily 300 bucks markup on those, what scalpers will do? xD
